The Paris Opera, 1881...

Hidden in the tunnels deep below the Paris Opera resides a deformed musical genius who stalks the halls and terrorizes the company from the rafters. With his half-covered by his famous white mask, his only happiness comes from tutoring the beautiful, orphaned chorus girl Christine Daae, with whom he has an enduring obsession. Unseen, he teaches the young ingenue to sing 'The Music of the Night.' As her 'Angel of Music', Christine blossoms and steps out of the chorus line onto center stage.

When Christine becomes engaged to another man, the Phantom is driven wild with jealousy and will stop at nothing to have her for himself, even resorting to murder. And so begins a tantalizing tale of forbidden love and supernatural adventure so exciting that over 130 million people worldwide have lost their hearts and minds to the drama.

Did you know?

To achieve the spooky atmosphere of the Phantom's underground lair, the crew use more than 500lbs of dry ice and 10 fog and smoke machines at every performance. Brrrrrr!

To each their own!

I, my sister and nieces found the play fantastic. The music, singing, acting and sets were wonderful. Although we were on the 3rd tier front and center we had a great view with no obstruction and did actually hear the performance. The only thing I would suggest is, if you are afraid of heights or have vertigo, do not sit on the very first row of any tier (in the Salt Lake Eccles Theater). The railing is very low and only comes to your knees. It was a bit scary for some members of my family while making their way to their seats. Other than that, I say to each their own, the play was excellent! ... Read more

BEYOND FANTASTIC. WHO IS THAT MASKED MAN? ;)

I have seen Phantom 8 times now and I have to say between the new sets, the pyro, the emotion evicted by the characters it is a very sad tell of love and acceptance. Derrick is hands down the best Phantom yet. He actually made me cry he was so powerful. Emma was great as Christine. The other supporting characters were excellent and the show flowed with perfection. A must see as you will not regret this!! 5 BIG BIG STARS!! ... Read more

The whole production still moved me to chills. The actors were so convincing that you believed you were in the opera house watching them perform! I would definitely go back and see this production again and again. Thank you Pantages for bring back the Phantom of the Opera!!! ... Read more
