Beat - King Crimson Tribute

Beat - King Crimson Tribute at Kodak Center

Why see Beat - King Crimson Tribute?

Supergroup Celebrating King Crimson

The music of King Crimson is celebrated by a group of musicians that are less "tribute band" more "supergroup"! Legendary guitarist Steve Vai and Tool drummer Danney Carey join former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin to tour a show performing the best bits from the legendary prog-rockers' three 1980s entries, Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair... plus potentially a few surprises!

King Crimson formed in London in the late 60s and went onto become one of the most influential progressive rock bands of all time. Their debut, In the Court of the Crimson King, set a new bar for the genre's music, and it's terrifying album cover has become an indelible pop culture touchstone. Don't miss this chance to hear some of the genre's most revered musicians play the music of one of the genre's most revered bands.

Best Prog Rock Concert I've Seen

The band AND the audience were fantastic. Two standing ovations were given during the concert (after the obviously showcase piece, The Sheltering Sky, and then after Elephant Talk.) Standing ovation after the final piece, then, of course, standing ovations AND lots of dancing in the aisles and by the stage during the two encore pieces (Red and Thela Hun Ginjeet.) By the way, "Thela Hun Ginjeet" is "The Jungle Heat" scrambled. Never knew that for 45 years! ... Read more

Beat IS King Crimson

FIRST SOME CONTEXT: I have been attending concerts since 1969 at age 14. I have seen all of the prog-rock giants including 1974’s King Crimson and also the final formation of King Crimson, ECM Records jazz greats, fusion groups like John McLaughlin & The Fourth Dimension, and the infamous 1974 Zappa & The Mothers. Again, not bragging, giving you context! I saw supergroup BEAT in Indianapolis 10/30. The band and the audience were in top form! BEAT is an amazing experience, as good and perhaps even better than King Crimson. There was a lot of joy on the stage and in the gallery. BEAT is in my top 5 concerts attended (date order) BEAT 2024 Indy King Crimson 2019 Chicago John McLaughlin 2017 Indy Johnny Clegg 1992 Boulder Zappa/Mothers 1974 Colorado Springs ... Read more
